Dave Brannam Boats, RV's, Tiny Home, water filtration

Hello Fellow Nomadics!

This is Dave Brannam from RV Water Filter Store.   I am here to help spread the word about water. Whether you are RV’ing, boating or living in your tiny home, finding clean, safe water can be a challenge.   This blog will talk about how to clean out contaminants, soften the water, pump the water, inform you about current water issues in parts of the country,  and share my experiences and, more importantly, YOUR experiences with water issues and how to solve them.    We are the new owners of RV Water Filter Store, Dave and Tracey Brannam.

Bon Voyage Rick and Lynn

Rick and Lynn

We have owned RV water filter store for almost one year now, and the learning curve is starting to level out.  Learning from the original owner, Richard Dahl, has been an amazing experience as he was one of the most instrumental people in getting RV water filtration capability to where it is today.   In the early ’90’s,  Richard was full time RV’ing in a converted bus with his wife Lynn and his three kids.   The water quality was sketchy and unreliable so he decided to use granulated aquarium carbon in a coffee can to filter his drinking water.  This worked well, and he sold about 1300 of these rudimentary filters for $5 a piece.   He then built this business based on high quality products and excellent customer service.  After about 25 years of excellent service, Rick and Lynn retired in 2016, because Miss Lynn put her foot down… ‘we retire and go cruisin’ the world, or I am going without you!’  We had the good fortune to be looking for a second career, so we bought this fantastic business from the Dahl’s and having such a great time helping RVers, Tiny Homeowners and Boaters with all their clean water needs.

A Little About Us

We have been RV’ing for 20 years on and off, and full timing since 2014.   Dave took an early retirement from Intel Corporation in 2014 after 35 years as an engineer and engineering manager. At the same time, Tracey retired from her 23-year career as the owner of a high-end photography studio in El Dorado Hills, California.  We took to the road after retirement, sold the house in Northern California and went to all corners of the country, exploring the Olympic Peninsula, the Rockies, all the way to Maine, down to the Florida Keys and back to Southern California, and found Jojoba Hills RV SKP Resort which is our current home base.   That is where we met the Dahl’s.

Whew…. What a Learning Curve!

When Rick and Lynn decided to sell the business and retire, it was a match made in heaven.   We are passionate about good health, clean water and helping others  Buying the business allows us to continue to travel around the country, bringing the ability to clean water to the RV’ing community.   After several months of training, Dave took the reins.   Our intent is to continue to provide the same excellent customer service and innovative products that RV Water Filter Store has always provided, and we hope to grow our product line and customer base so everyone who RV’s can have clean water anywhere they are.

Heartfelt Thank You’s are in order

Over the years, RV Water Filter Store has developed a huge, loyal following.  Sites, such as iRV2, Trek With Us, Bob’s Guides,  RVforums.net and many other blogs and forums have graciously sent customers our way over the years, and we hope to thank them by reciprocating with this site.    We also want to share the knowledge and experience that we have obtained from our years of experience and touch on subjects that are of interest to not only RV’ers, but also boat and tiny home owners.  Here is an excellent video where Rich from Trek with Us demonstrates the use of some of our products.

That’s all for now!   Please subscribe and become part of our tribe!
