• The Imperial Sterasyl cartridge is a plain ceramic shell.
• The Ultracarb cartridge utilizes the same ceramic shell, but incorporates a solid block carbon core and some ion-exchange resins which reduce lead and other heavy metals.

Both cartridges are cleanable and reusable, although the carbon and resin components will eventually reach saturation and require replacement. If you are looking for the best filter for your drinking water, you've found it.

We also carry a low cost cartridge that is manufactured by KX Industries.  It  is made from solid block and designed to be reusable like real ceramic cartridges.  It is not resistant to stagnation for part-time use, but is rated for all bacteria like the ceramic.  It is not likely to last as long as ceramic, but is quite effective for the cost. 

Our lineup includes specialty cartridges for iron and manganese, fluoride, arsenic, deionization of minerals, phosphate crystal for reduction of scale, and nitrates.  Each cartridge is limited to the specific contaminant it is rated for.  Flow will vary as to the effectiveness in these standard size specialty cartridges.
